PRCC General Ride Information

PRCC has multiple weekly rides for a variety of skill levels. We are focused on Safe, Fun, Friendly rides.

Our Ride leaders manage the rides based on speed and distance. The ride classifications can be seen below. It is important to remember the speeds posted are average speeds. There may be times you could be traveling faster, or slower, than those indicated. Weather, and wind in particular, could also impact the perceived effort and final ride average.

Because all riders within a group are affected by a struggling rider, we ask that all new riders to PRCC choose the ride below the one they feel is best suited to them until they can consistently complete that ride without feeling stressed at any point during the ride. When you're able to successfully complete the ride without difficulty, the next step awaits you as your next challenge.

Our rides are posted in the calendar along with start times and locations. In general all pace groups will follow a similar route for weeknight rides. This will allow rides to try for that next group up if they want, and have a fall back, to a certain point, if they need it. Weekend rides routes will be chosen by the ride leaders and may not have fall back options.

Weeknight rides will generally start at 630pm. Weekend rides will generally start at 8am October to March (standard daylight hours) and 7am March to October (daylight savings time)

If you have traveled outside of the US within the past 14 days and/or have had contact with anyone testing positive with COVID19 and/or have experienced symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, and or flu like symptoms, please do not schedule to ride with the club until you have been cleared by a medical professional. We appreciate everyone's conscientious effort to keep each other safe.

Pace groups for the rides are listed to the left. These are general ranges and may vary slightly based on route, weather, or wind. At times you may be traveling faster, or slower, than the stated averages.

Family rides have no stated average because these will generally

be on local trails or neighborhood roads and are VERY causal pace. Great way to

get your entire family out for a ride.

*Letters, G, M, and T

may be used in conjunction with other ride paces. Rides with a "G"

Designation are Gravel rides. Those with an "M" are Mountain Bike

rides, and "T" is for time trial rides.

For example a ride

designation of "B" is a standard B paced road ride.

"CG" is a C

paced Gravel ride.

NOTE: Time Trial bikes

are NOT allowed in normal group rides. Time Trial rides are organized in

partnership with Endur3 bikes and other local groups. These have specific

organizational requirements and PRCC does not allow use of aero bars in normal

rides.
